This will be a continuing series where we ask the commits of the 2024 class for ODU football the same questions to get to know them better and learn more about their recruitment at Old Dominion. First up in this series is the first commit in the 2024 class, Quinn Henicle.

Quinn is a 6’2, 190 lb. quarterback from Downingtown West High School in Downingtown, PA. He’s rated as a 3* recruit on 24/7 and according to his twitter/X, he has received offers or interest from the following programs: Army, Bowling Green, EKU, Harvard, Towson, Colgate, W&M, Bryant, Maine, Lehigh, Monmouth, Lafayette and Sacred Heart. Do you have a nickname you prefer to go by?

I don’t have a go-to nickname but some people, including Coach Deck, call me “Quinny”.

Who was your lead recruiter and how would you describe your relationship with the staff?

Coach Decker was my lead recruiter and I feel I have a great relationship with him and the rest of the staff. They are the main reason I committed.

Are you planning on making a visit for a game this fall? If so, which one?

Yes, I am planning on coming to at least the Wake Forest game.

What other offers were you considering?

Some other offers I was considering were William & Mary and Bowling Green.

What made you pick ODU over your other offers?

I chose ODU over my other offers because I love the coaching staff, offensive scheme, and program in general. I feel it’s a rising program and I want to be the start of a championship winning team.

If you had to pick a player to compare your game to, who would you pick?

If I could pick a player to compare myself to I’d probably choose Trace McSorely from Penn State because he’s athletic, a playmaker, and a fierce competitor.

What has been your favorite moment or highlight from your high school career so far?

The highlight of my career so far was throwing about a 70 yard touchdown pass to win our league championship against our rival.

If you weren’t playing football, what other sport would you want to play in college?

If I wasn’t playing football in college, I’d definitely be playing baseball.

We always try to ask one fun question to our guests on the podcast, so this is it: If you had to train a wild animal to play your position, which animal species would you pick and why?

I would train a monkey because they’re smart animals and most like humans.

What is your message for Monarch Nation?

My message to Monarch Nation is thank you for welcoming me and I can’t wait to get to work next fall.

Stay tuned for the next Q&A with the class of 2024 for ODU football. In the meantime, go give Quinn a follow on twitter/X.
