The Pride of ODU unites the unwavering support of Monarch Nation to champion the future of ODU Athletics. By connecting fans, alumni, and local businesses, we create meaningful NIL opportunities for ODU’s student-athletes, celebrating their accomplishments while giving fans exclusive access to the Monarch experience through memberships, special events, and member-only gear. Facilitated by dedicated ODU advocates, The Pride of ODU is committed to empowering our athletes and building bridges within the ODU community and beyond.
Ninety percent of every dollar raised through The Pride of ODU goes directly to the athletes, with the remaining ten percent supporting memorable experiences for both fans and student-athletes.

The Pride of ODU is not a 501c3 tax exempt entity. As such, contributions to The Pride of ODU are not tax deductible as a charitable donation. A company may partner with The Pride of ODU to promote its business, including promotion from ODU student-athletes. Under these circumstances a business may be able to deduct their payment as a business expense. Of course, a business seeking a tax deduction for such payment should consult with its tax advisor prior to taking any such deduction.

Student-athletes cannot enter into deals that promote alcohol, drugs, pharmaceuticals, political advertising, pornography, gambling or betting, or other opportunities that go against Old Dominion University values. Additionally, there must be quid-pro-quo between the athlete and an individual or business.
The Pride of ODU seeks to create a wide range of NIL opportunities for student-athletes that help them grow as young men and women, while also giving supporters an opportunity to interact with student-athletes in unique ways.

The Pride of ODU keeps its overhead costs as low as possible, but must cover expenses related to IT, legal, marketing materials, content creation, student-athlete education, fan engagement experiences, accounting, bookkeeping and agency services.

No, contracts vary based on the specific athlete and the requirements of the contributor and/or activation.
Each deal is individually negotiated and agreed upon by the student-athletes. That being said, The Pride of ODU seeks to provide equal opportunities for both male and female student-athletes.
