
Norfolk, VA — March 26, 2025 — The Pride of ODU Collective is thrilled to announce the continuation of its' partnership with Old Dominion University (ODU) men's basketball standout, Robert Davis Jr. This renewed commitment underscores our dedication to supporting ODU student-athletes and enhancing the Monarchs' athletic excellence.
Davis Jr., a 6-foot-6 guard from Detroit, Michigan, has been a pivotal player for the Monarchs. In the 2024-25 season, he led the team with an average of 15.6 points per game, along with 2.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. His offensive prowess was highlighted by a career-high 32-point performance against Louisiana-Monroe, where he sank seven three-pointers and was instrumental in securing an overtime victory.
Beyond individual games, Davis Jr. demonstrated consistent excellence throughout the season. He led the Sun Belt Conference with 40 three-pointers made, broke the Old Dominion basketball record for made three-pointers in a season with 116 (previously set by Anthony Carver with 91 made in 1990), he averaged 3.6 made three-pointers per game, and scored in double figures seven times. His outstanding contributions earned him the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honor on December 24, 2024.
Reflecting on his journey, Davis Jr. expressed gratitude for the support from The Pride of ODU Collective and the Monarch community. "We have a tight-knit group; we try to keep it family-oriented in men's basketball," he said. "Being around campus and showing you're more than a basketball player is important."
